According to Narita, Chiba Pref. of Narita International Airports, Hawk is one of the many ways to stop bird strikes. It was proved during their test and trials made. “For two hours every morning and evening, when birds often appear over runways, a falconer with his halk patrols the airport. If a one-week trial, which started Monday, proves effective, the operator, Narita International Airport Cor., plans to continue using hawks in a regular basis.”
It was also added that hawks used overseas to keep birds away from airports.
